Danish Design: Arken Visual Identity

During the fall of 2017, I studied graphic design abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark. I created a complete visual redesign and brand identity for the Arken Museum of Modern Art. Arken showcases one of Scandinavia's finest collections of contemporary art and they aim to use new materials, forms, and media to question the very definition of art itself.

Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair: Handmade Poster

Exhibition poster for Arne Jacobsen’s Egg Chair created by hand using monochrome magazine cutouts. The main goal was to explore what can be achieved out of simple letters and forms.

Fritz Hansen ft. Arne Jacobsen Exhibition Poster

Exhibition poster for Arne Jacobsen’s Cylinda Line for Stelton design firm. The assignment was to be done in the Danish style without using images or color to master concepts of texts and hierarchy. I was particularly inspired by the ideals of gesalt theory and negative space to create forms.

Frame Magazine

Exhibition Poster

This poster's goal was to depict the Brand of Dutch Magazine's Frame, including their love of color, excitement, and new and innovative ideas. My design is inspired by their photography style and the symbol of breaking out of a box/frame. I chose the color palette based on the sense of their visual identity that I got from their print, web, and social platforms. This project was to practice making design for a company that already has a pre-existing design aesthetic.
